So I'm back to readingMy Sister's Keeperfor the umpteenth time, and as always, it moves me.

Its not just the language. It is also the way Jodi Picoult links events, objects and emotions we experience daily that causes me to do a double take on Life. Specifically mine. She reminds me there are many things in life that are beautiful and it is really amazing how so many things are interlinked and how so many things go together when you bother to take note, if you bother to take note.
"My mother moves so fast that I do not even see it coming. But she slaps my face hard enough to make my head snap backward. She leaves a print that stains me long after it's faded. Just so you know: shame is five-fingered."
Few might find her books sappy, (haha Qixin you're so honest and so frank I can't help but love you) but I find them a refreshing and soothing read, especially on such a cool day, lying down on my bed in my lovely room and the windows thrown open, wide, with the clouds heavy with rain and the fresh, crisp smell of earth in the air.
It is days like this when I remember what leisure is. It is days like this when I especially feel in touch with words and language. Its days like this when I remember why I refused to stop doing lit, why I continued taking lit all the way to the As and why I so love reading.
